First Step Covid 19 update Tuesday 24th March 2020
As of Monday 23rd, First Step took the decision that it was in the country’s best interest to start working from home, whilst our paramount priority is to assist all our vendors, buyers, potential buyers, landlords, tenants, potential tenants, trades and developers, we felt that at this unprecedented time in all our lives, our priority for the foreseeable future had to be to support the NHS and try to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus by reducing non-essential viewings, appointments and travel. We also anticipated that it wouldn’t be long before the government advised us that this would be forced upon us and sure enough the news came Monday evening in the Prime Ministers address to the nation.
As of today, David and myself are finishing off in the office, but we’ve organised for all of our team members to be working from home and we will be continuing with this until we are told we can return to our normal work place. We have set up video connections on our devices so that we can all continue to have our face to face morning meetings, or throughout the day as necessary, to ensure that we are all in touch with what is going on throughout the team.
Some of the team have young children who are likely to be around, so if we do contact you by phone, or you us, please bear with us if there is background noise that might not be associated with work, however, please be assured that we will still be giving you our full attention. Also hours of work will be more flexible due to this, so if we are unable to answer your call immediately please leave your name, number and a short message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
DURING THIS PERIOD WE WILL NOT BE ARRANGING ANY NON-ESSENTIAL APPOINTMENTS, but we will be continuing to monitor all calls and enquiries and reschedule appointments when it is safe to do so. All rental emergency calls will be dealt with in the normal manner.
Hopefully all other companies will be doing the same and this will be replicated throughout the country and we will see a slow down with the spread to assist us all getting back to some sort of normality as soon as possible.
It is within these unprecedented times that everyone needs to come together to find a solution and I hope this notice relays our thinking behind this, these are fast moving times and the situation is changing daily. At the end of every week we will be doing our own First Step Address which we will put on our website and send onto everyone we are dealing with. We aim to keep in touch and keep you updated on any changes or anything that we feel is relevant to you. We feel communication at this time is a very important tool. Our team will continue to be with you every step of the way!
In the meantime please stay safe, look after yourselves and your family and don’t hesitate to call should you need to discuss anything, we will be at the end of the phone.
|With kind regards
